How does the SolarAPP+ workflow work?

The installer enters project data and equipment information into SolarAPP+. The platform checks the submission against its supported rules. An eligible application can receive automated approval. A failed check returns information for correction or sends the project toward another review path.

The local workflow does not end at the automated result in every jurisdiction. Some authorities require another portal submission, local payment, contractor registration, or separate building permit. Utility interconnection also remains a separate decision.

Use five project records:

1. The signed-in address and jurisdiction result.
2. The current feature listing for PV, storage, and service work.
3. The platform eligibility result.
4. The local AHJ instructions and fee schedule.
5. The utility interconnection application and status.

Where is SolarAPP+ available?

Availability follows participating jurisdictions and supported pathways. A state can appear in the official table while most addresses use another process. A listed row can also describe a pilot, a limited feature set, or one part of a split permit route.

What systems can qualify?

The current SolarAPP+ eligibility page defines supported building types, electrical limits, battery conditions, mounting types, and excluded project categories. Local authorities can use narrower requirements.

Do not reuse a limit from an older article or another jurisdiction. Check the live eligibility page for each project. Then compare every entered value with the plan set, equipment schedule, and single-line diagram.

The automated route does not cover every residential-looking project. Ground mounts, ballasted systems, multifamily buildings, homeowner-installed projects, service changes, or unsupported storage configurations may need manual review.

What does SolarAPP+ approval prove?

A successful SolarAPP+ review proves that the submitted data passed the supported automated checks. It does not guarantee that the data matches the final drawings or installed system. It also does not prove utility approval, inspection completion, or permission to operate.

• Confirm the project address and responsible AHJ.
• Confirm every requested feature, including storage and service work.
• Run the current national eligibility checklist.
• Apply narrower local rules and exclusions.
• Reconcile platform inputs with drawings and equipment records.
• Check current platform and local fees.
• Record the manual fallback when the project does not qualify.
